Le teenager usano i social media più dei loro colleghi maschi

Secondo questo articolo di eMarketer, nel 2007 i teenagers tra i 10 e i 12 anni hanno affermato di usare i social network sono aumentati più del doppio rispetto al 2006. Inoltre per il 2011 si stima che gli adolescenti che useranno i social media saranno quasi 18 milioni.

In particolare, secondo la ricerca della Harris InteraciveYouth Trends“, pubblicata ad Aprile, più della metà delle ragazze (54%) tra i 13 e i 15 anni hanno usato i social network nel 2007, con un leggero decremento rispetto al 57% del 2006.

La ricerca ha rilevato una diffusione tra le ragazze significativamente maggiore dell’uso dei social network e dei blog rispetto ai teenagers maschi: il 57% delle girls usa i social networks contro il 38% dei boys, mentre il 34% delle ragazze gestisce un blog rispetto al 20% dei ragazzi.

Questa maggiore diffusione dei social media tra le è stata rilevata anche da altri studi realizzati dall’American Life Project e da Pew Internet e la ricerca realizzata dalla National Commission on Writing tra settembre e novembre del 2007.

Questa coincidenza di risultati permette da una parte di concludere che i social media hanno un ruolo fondamentale nella comunicazione tra le ragazze USA e che a tendere le commmunity dedicate alle mamme (argomento già trattato qua) ed alle donne online non faranno altro che continuare a crescere.
